Quebec City is the Capital of the Province known as Quebec. Its name comes from an Algonquin word that means “where the river narrows” (the city lays against the St Lawrence River, which used to be an important trade passage way). Quebec City was founded in 1608, making it one of the oldest cities in North America. Quebec City is also the last place in North America to maintain the fortified city walls that surround Old Quebec, and the Citadel is still considered an active military base. We toured The Parliament, walked through the ‘doors’, ate crepes, drank a tremendous amount of coffee, attended a beer festival and enjoyed seeing everything this perfect historically preserved town had to offer.
I try to be the most efficient packer I can be when going on vacation. One of the ways I achieve this is carrying pieces that can be mixed and matched with many items. This includes:
1. A lightweight Blazer
2. A lightweight scarf
4. Tops that can be interchanged and worn at different times during the trip so they appear new to the company you’re in
We just got back from vacation last night and although I love to see new things and get away, there’s nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed. We spent a week in Quebec City and Montreal, both places were beautiful and we had a great time, pictures to come this week!
There’s something about khaki and white in the summer that’s so easy to throw on for work. I’ve had this belt since high school and I still love the turquoise buckle.

I’m not sure if it’s the window messages from the stores telling me it’s time for Fall clothing or because my office is so cold, or maybe a combination of both, but I’ve been wanting to wear long sleeves. The green in the dress and the green woven don’t match exactly, but they don’t fight with each other either.

Clearly I was feeling very nautical! I’ve had this sweater from H&M for a couple of seasons now and the buttons haven’t lost their charm yet.
Now…where can I find a yacht?

I couldn’t be more excited for our vacation!
We’ll be visiting a city we’ve been to before and one I haven’t, plus seeing our friends get married.
Posts are planned but, back in person next week!

The colors in this scarf are some of my favorites for Fall. However, until there’s an actual chill in the air, a jewel tone t-shirt will have to suffice.
