I recently discovered some new-to-me products that I love, and I’ve also included some old ones I swear by. Here are some of my favorites:Screen Shot 2014-04-08 at 9.44.21 AM

MAKE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER

The most effective yet gentle one I’ve found

This completely changed the texture of my lips, which was much needed after this winter

The best thing to put on before your mascara, makes any brand go on smoother and look better

ZOYA NAILPOLISH REMOVER

I love everything from the smell to the way it dispenses the remover, and it conditions nails

BENEFIT THE PORE-FESSIONAL

HOURGLASS VEIL MINERAL PRIMER

The perfect thing to prep your skin before putting on make-up for a night out

BENEFIT STAY DON’T STRAY

Put this on before your concealer and eye shadow to ensure they don’t move, all day or all night long

Miami

We planned a little get-away to Miami last weekend and it was exactly what both of us needed. It was so nice to be in the sunshine, read my book (The Luminaries), see some friends and have some terrific fried chicken.

Valentine’s Day Card Making at Paper Source

Image

I love cards. I’ve kept most of the cards The Canadian and I have given each other throughout the years, save especially sweet birthday cards from friends and always get excited when we receive a save the date or wedding invitation. I found a Valentine’s Day Card Making Class at Paper Source and convinced a friend to go with me. We learned how to make 5 cards and it made me want to invest in stamps all over again.

If you’re looking for some paper related inspiration my favorite blog is Oh So Beautiful Paper.

Be Mine Card

Materials:

Recipe Tips:

  • Punch out flag shapes before stamping.
  • Using a clothespin to hold shapes, (to avoid burning fingers) heat set stamped images with embossing heat tool to dry ink.
  • Apply lace tape to card and wrap ends of tape strip around card to prevent it from peeling up.

Wedding Party App

Screen Shot 2013-06-25 at 10.49.30 PM

I read about the Wedding Party App on my favorite wedding blog when I was planning our wedding and decided to let our guests know it was an option if they wanted to participate.

Hundreds of uploaded pictures later, I was glad I did!

The site is easy to use, the app is free and you can print out instruction cards for your guests (which I left in the welcome bags)

Even the guys got in on the fun and I had access to so many pictures instantly! You can also save the pictures or post them on facebook.

The Wedding Party app would also be a great way for your guests to see other events, such as your rehearsal dinner, bachelorette or bridal shower.

Bora Bora

IMG_2370

The second stop on our honeymoon was Bora Bora which is a 50 minute flight from Tahiti. If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat on the left side of the plane you get an amazing aerial view before you land. The airport is located on an island (or motu) and everyone needs to take a boat to get to the main island or their hotel. We stayed at the Intercontinental and spent our days relaxing, snorkling, and took an excursion to swam with the stingrays and sharks (yes, sharks, and it was amazing!) and had lots of Tahitian poisson cru.

InStyle Feature

I bought this pajama inspired top that I saw in InStyle and I was lucky enough to have it featured in this month’s ‘Inspired by InStyle’ section!  Above are the 3 ways I’ve worn the top so far.  I have a feeling I’ll be pairing it with cut offs soon.

Goes With Anything

Loving how this top can go with just about anything.
